UNIQUE INTEGRATIVE APPROACH
Established in 2020, we are Geothermal Energy Advisors, a Research and Consulting, company located in Houston, United States. We have offices in USA, Canada and EU. Our expertise encompasses Geoscience Research and Application, specialising in Geothermal Energy and Natural Hydyogen exploration.
At Geothermal Energy Advisors, we pride ourselves on our innovative methods for geological research. With a primary focus on Geothermal Energy and Natural Hydrogen, our team is dedicated to applying cutting-edge techniques to advance our understanding and utilization of this sustainable energy source.
SERVICES
Geothermal Energy Advisors, LLC (GEA) is a specialist consulting group that has developed an integrated systems thinking achieved by combining sensing tools, software platforms, and subsurface science to guide high-potential targeting and discovery. GEA aims to reduce sub-surface uncertainty and risk for the exploration and characterization of projects that aim to exploit: Hot Sedimentary Aquifers (HSA), Engineered Geothermal Systems, (EGS), Closed Loop Geothermal (CLG) and Hybrid Geothermal Systems (HGS).
GEA co-developed Geothermal Radar, which is a global geothermal, meta-model. Geothermal Radar combines stochastic modelling of project technoeconomics over the lifetime of a geothermal project. Screening combines both subsurface analysis and above ground infrastructure (e.g. fiber, grid, industry and population). Geothermal Radar is the first model that successfully integrates well data, geophysical data and thermomechanical lithospheric models to derive the stochastic depth and temperature (P90-P50-P10) of potential geothermal reservoirs. Geothermal Radar integrates over 100 layers of data unlocking the rapid screening of geothermal opportunities.
GEA’s integrated and advanced workflows are aimed at the characterisation and maturation of geothermal projects. Workflows involve higher resolution structural mapping, reservoir lithology prediction, improved geo-mechanical modelling and SHMAX estimates at the reservoir depth. Improvements are made through 2D seismic reflection, passive seismic modelling and the integration of outcrop and petrophysical data to improve local models of conductivity and radiogenic content (U/K/Th) of the resource and overlaying sedimentary and basement rocks. These data are integrated into Geothermal Radar’s technoeconomic models refining project sensitivities and into a unified 3D geological model of the target.
SERVICES
All techno-economic modelling is done in Geothermal Radar – our proprietary platform combining global geospatial data, simulation engines, and interactive scenario simulation. It enables analysis of generation profiles, CAPEX/OPEX and LCOE using probabilistic analysis (P10-P50-P90). It can include Rate of Learning forecasts and much more.
GEA can help you develop you develop country-scale strategies for geothermal exploration and development. This can include resource assessments for Open-Loop (FERVO-style), Closed Loop (EAVOR-style) Hydrothermal or Hot Sedimentary Aquifers (HSA). We can assist you with license rounds and identifying areas in-country that should be developed first.
We regularly assess regulatory risks, land access constraints, permitting hurdles, and investment incentives using a “stacked” approach. This helps identify both friction points and acceleration opportunities, aligned to site-specific industrial energy needs.
Innovation
Geothermal Energy Advisors (GEA) operates globally. Founded in the USA (July-2020) we have offices in Canada, and Europe. GEA can help you develop exploration strategies in geothermal (open loop (FERVO-style), closed loop (EAVOR-style) and natural hydrothermal systems, including Hot Sedimentary Aquifers, HSA).
Sub-surface characterization specialists: We provide subsurface expertise helping you strategize and move from geodynamic >> province >> play >> reservoir scale analysis, and >> to prospect, and Portfolio. We provide insight on technoeconomic modelling, Resource and Reserves assessment through quantitative analysis. We aim to help you characterize the uncertainty in your projects and unlock funding and value through probabilistic modelling and detail-oriented work.
Resource Analysis
Ball et al., (2025) published a global summary of thermal resource by tectonic domain. This shows considerable variability of thermal resource within geodynamic and tectonic domains.
GEA is developing workflows to help you identify resource potential and reduce uncertainty in the depth to economic isotherms and identify the areas that should be developed first.
